CSA-NYS Updated Strategic Plan

A Brief History

In 1970 a resourceful group of college bookstore managers decided that people work better in a group than alone. This group of managers began what is now the College Stores Association of New York State. Since that time, many others have realized the potential benefits and have become a part of this growing organization. Your participation in this organization will be welcomed and much appreciated.

So Get Involved!!!

The purpose of this association shall be to unite in one organization those persons employed by enterprises actually engaged in or whose major business is the retail sale of books, supplies and/or other merchandise to students and faculties of educational institutions In New York State.

We promote a high standard of business methods and ethics among our members and the faculties and the students we serve.

We hold regular educational conferences for the dissemination of information beneficial to bookstore managers and staffs.

Through this organization we develop a more effective communication and working relationship with the publishers of books and the manufacturers and distributors of supplies to bring about a better understanding of mutual problems to the end that all parties may benefit.

The association assists store managers In their efforts to more effectively serve their respective Institutions and to share Ideas and Information among all members.
